Course Descriptions and Rules

This page describes all courses offered in the Engagement Rx system.

All behavioral change courses* guide members through a process that gradually retrains the brain and permanently eliminates the emotional and psychological compulsion to continue the targeted unhealthy behavior.

All full-length courses include video sessions led by one or more experts, quizzes to review and reinforce video topics, reading materials that summarize session concepts, and assignments that bring the training into the participant's everyday life. Courses are set to individual pacing; depending on the content in a session and the estimated time to complete assignments and absorb concepts, there is a one- to three-day wait period before the member can begin the next session. Automatic messaging alerts members when their next session is ready. If a member waits two weeks or more without accessing a previously started course, they will receive a prompt on their course homepage suggesting they restart the course; members will have the option to restart or continue where they left off.

There are also microlearning courses, which are shorter than full-length courses and are made up of small modules that can be completed within 5-7 minutes. There is no wait period between sessions (referred to as "lessons" in microlearning courses).

*All courses are considered behavioral change courses except for the Nutrition Microlearning course, which is an educational course on nutrition. While users are encouraged to develop healthy eating habits, the course's main focus is on what to eat to maintain a healthy diet and tips to do so on a regular basis.
