System Notifications to Participants

Engagement Rx comes preloaded with system notification emails that are automatically sent to members based on certain triggers related to portal registration and activity within a course. In this article, we’ll identify the types of system notifications with details about each.


Welcome/Registration Notifications

  • Portal Invitation Email—Sent when a member is added to a "closed" portal; contains a link for registration.
    • This notification only applies to portals that use the Closed Portal member validation method in which individual members are added manually by an administrator or coach (meaning, this notification does not apply to portals that use eligibility files or SSO). This notification is sent by enabling it at the time of new member account creation, otherwise it can be sent manually from the member admin afterwards (if it was overlooked at the account creation or if the invitation link expired).
  • Welcome Email—Sent when a member completes the registration process.
    • This notification only applies to standard login (meaning non-SSO) portals and can be disabled by contacting support.


Misc. Notifications

  • New Linked Device Email—Sent when a member links a device to their account.


Course Notifications

Members can manage the Course Notifications via a checklist in their member profile--see below for details. 

  • Session Reminders—Sent one day after a new session becomes available for a course with a rules-based calendar schedule.
  • Session Completion—Sent after a session is completed to summarize the session’s most important concepts and information.
  • Personal Coach Communications—Sent after completing the later session check-ins (session 6 and after) for courses that include the automated PersonalCoach feedback system. These messages deliver guidance based on the user’s responses during check-in. *
  • Support Communications—Sent daily after completion of session 5 for courses that include the automated PersonalCoach system; these very short messages offer reminders and encouragement. *
  • LivingFit Daily Walking Reminders—Sent every day after a member begins the Getting Active (LivingFIt) course and continues until the course is completed; these are simple reminders to log walking minutes and track progress.
  • LivingWell Daily “D”— Sent every day after a member begins the Managing Diabetes (LivingWell) course and continues until the entire series is sent (83 total); each Daily D covers one interesting or helpful aspect of health or life with diabetes.
  • LivingWellRested Daily "Z"— Sent every day after a member begins the Sleeping Soundly (LivingWellRested) course and continues until the entire series is sent (45 total); each Daily Z covers an interesting or helpful fact related to sleep.


* Courses include Controlling Alcohol (LivingSmart), Living Lean, Quitting Tobacco and Nicotine (LivingFree)


To manage these notifications, the member must go to their member profile in their portal by clicking on the bell icon in the upper-right corner:



After scrolling down a little bit, they'll find the Privacy & Communications Settings section where they can select or unselect the different communications. There is also an info button they can click to view details:
