The Strive for 5 Challenge focuses on the incredible health benefits of regularly consuming a variety of fruits and vegetables, ideally 5 servings a day.

Purpose/Benefits of the Challenge
Designed to inspire and educate, this challenge offers a unique opportunity for your team to explore nutritious eating habits, learn about the benefits of a plant-rich diet, and experience the joy of fresh, wholesome foods. This challenge is a 21-day intro to a lifetime habit of eating five servings of fruits and vegetable a day.
Outline of Challenge Phases
Phase 1 (Days 1-7): Introduction and Preparation
Theme: In the first week, the focus is on education regarding the significance of fruits and vegetables as a part of a regular diet. This phase introduces some creative ways to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into meals.
Phase Completion Type: All Required Activities

- Use the Daily Fruit and Vegetable Tracker: Eat 5 servings of fruits or vegetables for at least 2 days this week. (70 tokens)
- Read the article “The Importance of Fruits and Vegetables in Your Diet.” (100 tokens)
- Complete the flow “Creative Ways to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.” (100 tokens)
Phase 2 (Days 8-14): Implementation and Habit Formation
Theme: Identify how to determine what one serving of fruits and vegetables is and what it looks like; apply what’s been learned to continue efforts to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Phase Completion Type: All Required Activities

- Use the Daily Fruit and Vegetable Tracker: Eat 5 servings of fruits or vegetables for at least 3 days this week. (70 tokens)
- Read the article “Understand Servings: What Does One Serving of Fruit or Vegetable Look Like?” (100 tokens)
Phase 3 (Days 15-21): Benefitting from Variation
Theme: What benefits do specific fruits and vegetables give us and challenging ourselves to eat a wider variation of different fruits and veggies.
Phase Completion Type: All Required Activities

- Use the Daily Fruit and Vegetable Tracker: Eat 5 servings of fruits or vegetables for at least 3 days this week. (70 tokens)
- Read the article “Benefits and Health Boosts of Specific Veggies and Fruits.” (100 tokens)
Optional
Do the Colorful Plate Challenge by incorporating at least three different colors of fruits and/or vegetables into at least three individual meals this week. (100 tokens)
