The Community Connect Challenge is designed to help participants become more involved with their communities while they strengthen social bonds and gain a greater sense of unity. This challenge is an opportunity for participants to contribute positively to their local communities while boosting their own well-being through social support and engagement.



  • Duration of Challenge: 6 phases/6 weeks 

  • Participation Type: Individual or group

  • Recommended Time of Year: Spring or early Fall

  • Program Completion Type: Minimum tokens, 1000


Purpose/Benefits of the Hydration Challenge


Participants will engage in various activities designed to bring people together, support local initiatives, and foster a sense of communal wellness. It's about more than just individual health—it's about building a healthier, more connected community.


Outline of the Community Connect Challenge Phases


Phase 1 (Days 1-7): Getting to Know Your Community


Theme: This phase is about discovering the roots and current dynamics of the local community.


Phase Completion Type: Minimum Activities

  • Read the article “How to Get More Involved in Your Community.” (100 tokens)


Optional



  • Visit a local community center or library. (100 tokens)

  • Visit a local landmark or museum. (100 tokens)


Phase 2 (Days 8-14): Community Wellness and Health


Theme: Participate in local health fairs, contribute to neighborhood cleanliness, and learn about wellness practices. This phase emphasizes the importance of a healthy environment and lifestyle, not just for individuals, but for the entire community.


Phase Completion Type: Minimum Activities


Optional



  • Participate in a local health fair or wellness event. (100 tokens)

  • Join a neighborhood clean-up. (100 tokens)

  • Attend a wellness workshop. (100 tokens)

  • Volunteer at a local charity or non-profit organization. (100 tokens)

  • Reflect on your experience during this phase: What did you enjoy? What gave you a feeling of connectedness? Were there any obstacles you encountered that you can learn from? If you’d like, keep a journal of your thoughts. (100 tokens)


Phase 3 (Days 15-21): Cultural and Artistic Engagement


Theme: This phase is all about celebrating creativity, diversity, and cultural richness, enhancing your appreciation for the arts within the community.

Phase 4 (Days 22-28): Environmental Connection


Theme: This phase encourages a hands-on approach to environmental stewardship, highlighting the importance of preserving and appreciating the natural world around us.

  • Plant a tree or plant, or participate in a community garden. (100 tokens)

  • Join a nature walk or bird watching event. (100 tokens)

  • Attend an environmental workshop. (100 tokens)


Phase 5 (Days 29-35): Supporting Local Businesses


Theme: This phase focuses on the economic well-being of the community, emphasizing the role of local businesses in fostering a thriving, vibrant local economy.

  • Visit or recommend a local shop. (100 tokens)

  • Dine at a local restaurant. (100 tokens)


Phase 6 (Days 36-42): Community Celebration and Reflection


Theme: This final phase is a time to celebrate the connections and impacts made, setting the stage for continued community involvement.

  • Recommend an activity you completed to a friend or family. (100 tokens)

  • Share your experience with a community group or online forum. (100 tokens)
