Using Automations for Sequential Flows

This article is about using the automations tool to send flows in a predetermined, sequential order.


Follow the steps in this article to create an automation that delivers flows to a member sequentially...


Go to the portal you want to create the automations for and click "Flows" from the CONTENT menu on the left:

In the flow creation interface, add an Email or To-Do component (this is how you trigger the sequential flows):

Embed the necessary Resource within the component:

Save and Publish:

Navigate back to Settings > Automations and Create an automation.

Click on Start of Automation and set the initial trigger:

  • For the first flow, set the trigger to Manual if you want an admin to start the process by assigning the automation to a member.

  • For subsequent flows, set the trigger to activate upon the completion of the previous flow. For example, the second automation should be triggered by the completion of the first flow.

Add a component that sends an email or creates a To-Do to the user, containing the next flow or task:

Add the Resource link for the next Flow into that component:

Repeat the steps above to create and automate each flow sequentially.

NOTE: Be sure that each flow’s automation is set to trigger upon the completion of the previous flow.

By following these steps, you can effectively create a sequence of automated flows that proceed one after another based on the triggers you’ve set.
