This article is about the Custom Task Types Management tool in the admin website. Admins assigned the role of Portal Manager can create and manage custom task types in their portal. Admins can create tasks and customize them with various icons, color options, and labels that make organization and recognition of tasks and task types easier. The large selection of icons and colors provides huge flexibility and creativity in the task management system.
To get to the custom task type tool:
- Enter the admin website.
- Go to the Settings section.
- Enter the Portal Management module.
- Choose the portal you want to manage custom tasks for (if you have access to more than one portal).
- Select “Custom Task Types” under the Settings section on the left-side menu.
On this page you can see any custom tasks that have already been created listed in the table, identifiable by the icon/color and the task label. Any tasks listed here can be assigned to coaches in the portal.
Creating a New Custom Task
- Click the “CREATE NEW TASK” button.
- Enter a label/title for the task.
- Choose a color to associate with the task or the task type; consider using the same colors for tasks that are similar in type.
- Choose an appropriate icon for the task.
In this example below, you can see that a custom task was made called “Message for Course Completion,” and it was assigned a text icon in green color; once the task is saved, it will appear in the table to the left:
Now, when you go to assign a task to a coach in the portal—from either the member dashboard section or the coaching dashboard—the new custom task will appear in the list of pre-existing options.
