Special permissions can be enabled or disabled at the company level. If special permissions are enabled at the company level, they can be enabled at an individual admin level. When special permissions are enabled, the following roles can be assigned: view member, manage member, and coach. Other roles may be enhanced by enabling special permissions.
There are two types of special permissions which, when granted, give the admin user access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI). Note that the PII and PHI options will not appear when creating or editing an admin account for companies who do not have either/or enabled on the company level.
PII and PHI are similar, but not precisely the same. Both refer to any data that can individually identify a member in your system. PII includes, but is not necessarily limited to, first and last name, birthday, and email address. PHI includes, but is not necessarily limited to, any health related information that could be linked to a specific person. See this article to learn more about PHI in the Engagement Rx system.
If PII and/or PHI are enabled for the admin user, it allows the viewing of information (seeing an email address in a report, for instance) that can be used to identify specific members.
Note: Any changes to an admin's account permissions are automatically logged in our system (who made the change, when the change occurred, and what the change was).
