This article is about the Course Progress Summary tool in the Reports section of the admin website. Admins with the Reports role can view and use this module.

To get to the Course Progress Summary tool:

  • Go to the Reports section of the admin website

  • Go to the Course Progress Summary module

What does the Course Progress Summary Report show?

When you run this report, you can see how many sessions—and which sessions—have been completed by portal members who have started a course during the selected time span.

For example, if you run a report with these date settings:

The report will show the sessions that have been completed by members who have started the course in between June 16th and July 16.

NOTE: For reports with short time spans

If the time period you choose in the start- and end-dates is shorter than the minimal completion time for a course, you will see a warning message:

This message simply makes you aware that the time span you set for the report is not long enough for members to have completed the course. All courses have a minimum time it takes to complete (learn more about course schedules), and reports that are run for short time spans will show dwindling session-completions for later sessions, and zero completions for the sessions that members have not had the necessary time necessary to reach yet.

Understanding the Report

This report shows all members who have started a course during the selected date-span and the session completions achieved during that time period.

The Line Graph

This line graph shows you the session completions for each session by members who have started a course during the date range you entered. The number of sessions completed is represented vertically and the specific sessions are shown horizontally:

The Table

Beneath the line graph is a table that provides a session-by-session synopsis of completion during the date range for the course you selected when you generated the report. Numbers in the report are broken down by portal and group (if more than one was selected for the report).

  1. This column lists the portal the report was run for; this row will show all portal members who've recorded session completion events during the time span.

  2. This column lists the groups inside the portal (if applicable) and the row corresponds specifically to members of this portal-group.

  3. This column lists specific courses and the row corresponds specifically to members who've recorded session completion events for the course.

  4. Each column relates to session completion events, per session.
